Giving back to charitable organizations is a concept very close to our hearts here at TOWN Residential. This spring, prepare to witness a rejuvenation in the city’s philanthropic efforts as the snow melts and gala season descends. While there are many opportunities to help critical causes, it is important to get involved with organizations that really speak to you.  With this in mind, here are five not-to-be-missed philanthropic events that benefit causes we love.

Hope Gala

The Hope Gala was founded by the New York City Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association. With a year-round commitment to conquering childhood cancer, the organization works to raise awareness and provide financial assistance for those individuals and families affected. Join them for a glamorous evening featuring a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing, a silent auction and raffle, entertainment, touching stories and more! The event is black-tie optional.

Salome Chamber Orchestra Spring Gala

Now in its second year, the Salome Chamber Orchestra Spring Gala benefits the performing arts and is sure to be a unique and festive affair. The 1001 Night-themed event will feature a performance by David Aaron Carpenter and the Salomé Chamber Orchestra, along with guest singers and dancers.

Don’t Eat Til Brooklyn

What could be more important than feeding New York’s hungry? Don’t Eat Til Brooklyn is the first signature event of the Citymeals on Wheels Young Professional Committee. The festive spring gala will feature tasty food and drinks from notable restaurants such as Virginia’s, Birds & Bubbles and DANIEL to raise money for the preparation and delivery of meals to New York City’s homebound elderly in all five boroughs.

A Fool’s Fête: Enchanted Garden

New Yorkers For Children is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth in foster care through education and access to opportunity. This year, their annual A Fool’s Fete gala is themed as an Enchanted Garden and remains one of the most esteemed social events of the season. The night will raise funds to help the foundation provide crucial resources to youth in foster care across New York City in the form of college scholarships, tutoring, advisement, job training programs and more.

Robin Hood Foundation Annual Benefit

With a motto of “Giving joyously, together,” the Robin Hood Foundation is one of the most fun and generous charities in New York City. Their Annual Benefit is a star-studded event that showcases the organization’s efforts to fight poverty in New York City and raises over $100 million in one night. Attendees can count on an exciting performance by a world-class performer. Past performers have included Sir Paul McCartney, Usher and Jon Bon Jovi, just to name a few.
