Food News | The Best Pancakes in New York City

January is the dawn of a new year, and what better way to celebrate the start of something new than with pancakes? While sometimes there’s nothing better than a simple homemade stack of pancakes, we’ve rounded up a list of the city’s top five locations serving up everybody’s favorite breakfast food. Be sure to venture out and sample some of these all-star pancakes, many of which offer a fresh twist on a classic recipe! (Note: we are well aware that some of you are very loyal to your favorite pancake establishment, which may or may not be included on our list. Many have tasted, and the consensus is in: Bubby’s has some of the best Banana Nut Pancakes this city has ever seen! With many other toppings to choose from, the pancake flavors include James Beard and Sourdough. And if the morning allows, be sure to sample their Fried Chicken Pancake combo as well!

2. Clinton St. Baking Company

Neil Kleinberg’s Blueberry Pancakes have been voted best in the city by New York Magazine, two times over! This Lower East Side stronghold serves pancakes all day long, and the rest of the menu has been lauded as “anything but ordinary” by the New York Observer. Come down and try a bite, or two, or three!

3. Win Son

159 Graham Avenue, East Williamsburg

Open for brunch on the weekends, Win Son in East Williamsburg is the perfect place to go to try pancakes with a twist! With a casual atmosphere, this venue serves up tasty Taiwanese-American fare, like these Scallion Pancakes with black vinegar dipping sauce. Be sure to try them out!

4. Serafina

Various Manhattan Locations, Including: 7 Ninth Avenue, Meatpacking

Served daily beginning at 7AM, these Lemon Ricotta Pancakes will redefine the way you think about the staple breakfast food. The treat has been described as a “puffy-like zesty lemon cake” and comes served with fresh raspberries and candied lemon. Top it off with maple syrup for a tasty breakfast any day!

5. Queens Comfort

Give these Red Velvet Pancakes a whirl at Queens Comfort, Astoria’s favorite comfort food dining destination! Their brunch menu is very extensive, so be sure to come in numbers in order to sample more than one dish.
