Company News | TOWN Astor Place Welcomes Artwork of Irene Mamiye

Homage 0021, Irene Mamiye, Haley Lankau

We are pleased to announce that TOWN Astor Place is now showcasing the acclaimed artwork of Irene Mamiye. Spearheaded by TOWN Interior Designer Haley Lankau, the collaboration and installation lends the perfect finishing touch to the newly painted and redesigned office.

“TOWN is committed to providing our Representatives with a world-class workspace,” shared Haley. “Art brings a creativity that transcends all interactions, and a warmth that fosters happiness and productivity.”

This installation upholds TOWN’s integral dedication to art, which has played a prominent role within the offices and culture since the firm’s inception. TOWN has most previously worked closely with breakthrough contemporary art company Twyla, which worked to curate a selection of twenty pieces to adorn the walls of TOWN Flatiron. TOWN has also notably worked with extraordinary artists such as illustrator James Gulliver Hancock, highly-acclaimed photojournalist Brian Hamill and historically celebrated photographers to adorn the offices with unrivaled creativity.

Irene Mamiye is a New York-based artist whose wide range of work incorporates photography, video and digital imaging techniques. Through light, color and movement, she blurs the distinctions between physical and virtual reality and employs intricate, labor-intensive processes to challenge what is expected of the photographic medium. Mamiye’s pieces are packed with art historical depth and pop culture abundance, all with undertones of playful yet mordant humor.

Mamiye’s extensive body of work, including digital images, videos, and furniture designs, has been widely exhibited across the United States. Her work is currently on view in the Aperture Foundation’s Photography is Magic, an exhibition curated by Charlotte Cotton, and was included in the landmark show The Edge of Vision (2009). Her work was part of the Museum of Art and Design’s Multiple Exposures: Jewelry and Photography (2014), and exhibited at SCOPE Art Fair, SELECT Fair (NYC), and Art Hamptons. Her work has also been featured in the following publications: Architectural Digest, Interior Design Magazine, Vanity Fair, People Magazine, Elle Décor and InStyle.

Born in Marseille, France, Mamiye immigrated to the U.S as an adolescent. She holds a BA in Photography and Global Studies from Gallatin New York University and an MFA in Lens Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

TOWN is thrilled to be showcasing Irene Mamiye’s work, both to support the company’s dedication to artists as well as to maintain a beautiful and luxurious office culture.

Be sure to visit the Astor Place office to see her work, and visit her website, in the meantime!

The Roof at the Viceroy Central Park presented opportunity for the firm’s newest office to toast to continued success in the new year.

TOWN Residential, New York’s leading luxury services firm, continued its series of holiday and seventh year anniversary celebrations with TOWN West Side’s intimate and elegant event Tuesday evening. Gerber Group’s The Roof, the crowning jewel of the Viceroy Central Park, presented the perfect setting for TOWN West Side to celebrate the exciting opening of its new office in 2017 and many successes to follow this year.

TOWN Residential founder and CEO Andrew Heiberger welcomed the office’s Representatives and associates, firm executive leadership, and VIP guests including Jamie Heiberger, Heiberger & Associates; Steven Merdinger, KRM LLP; Bonnie Desimone, Melissa Sinsi and Frank Micali, Citibank; and Benjamin Seiter and Ron Reimer, Citizens Bank, throughout the evening. While enjoying the evening, all toasted their contributions towards the firm’s successes; including the introduction of the newly imagined townresidential.com, their significant contribution to the expansion of the firm’s West Side footprint through the opening of 888 Seventh Avenue, and the further extension of the firm’s dynamic network to more than 3,600 professionals within more than 185 offices across five continents.

Situated atop the Viceroy Central Park New York, The Roof reigns as one of the city’s most lauded lounge and outdoor terrace areas, offering soaring views of the park and beyond, as well as a bird’s eye view of the city’s buzzing energy and excitement. The Roman and Williams-designed space evokes the luxurious aesthetic of a yacht, boasting ipe floors, brass details, custom walnut-and-leather sofas and curated images by Dalton Portella.

The fourth in a series of six intimate gatherings, this event followed TOWN Astor Place’s holiday event at Ian Schrager’s iconic PUBLIC amidst stunning views of the city skyline; TOWN Upper East Side’s celebration at the iconic St. Regis, the 18-story French Beaux-Arts building that has well-earned its status as a world-class destination for luxury and service; and TOWN Flatiron’s celebration at Norwood, one of Manhattan’s most elite and influential private clubs housed inside its hallmark historic 14th Street brick brownstone.

These celebrations will continue in the coming week, as TOWN New Development, TOWN Marketing and Leasing, TOWN Corporate, TOWN Financial District and TOWN Brooklyn each enjoy gatherings to ring in 2018.
